Technical terms

Our glossary explains the most important terms and abbreviations that are used on this website.

The assembly of hoses consists of putting together single components to create a single hose system.

Composite hoses consist of multiple layers as well as internal and external spirals. These hoses are characterised by their light weight and flexibility. They are ideal for transporting mineral oil products, solvents, alkaline solutions, alcohols and hydrocarbons.

E-CTFE Beschichtung

E-CTFE certification

The surfaces of the valves or couplings that come into contact with the medium are coated with E-CTFE (Halar) or a comparable plastic. This gives added protection against abrasive materials.

Heavy fuel hose (HFH)

The structure of our HFH hoses is similar to that of our MDO hoses. The difference is that the HFH hoses have an additional stainless steel mesh and an extra pyro sleeve. HFH hoses are used in motor vessels.

Marine diesel oil (MDO)

MDO hoses are used in the marine sector, transporting fuel to the motors of boats and ships. They consist of a PTFE liner, coil reinforcement, stainless steel mesh and a fire-resistant pyro sleeve. In order to ensure the highest possible safety, these hose systems must be able to withstand an external fire for at least 45 minutes.

Pyro heat protection

Specially developed for use at high temperatures, this protection sleeve can be used continuously at 260 degrees and for short periods of time at up to 800 degrees (exposed to flames). Our heat protection also reduces external hose temperature –when transporting hot materials and ensures safe handling of the hose.

Rubber kink protection (RKP)

The marsoflex rubber kink protection considerably increases the service life of hose systems. It reinforces especially worn areas underneath the bind, decreasing the likelihood of the formation of kinks. Because of its static-dissipating properties, kink protection can also be used in hazardous areas.
